Wind: East to southeast 3 to 4, occasionally 5, backing east to northeast by evening, becoming variable 2 to 3 overnight.

Sea state: Smooth or slight, with a low swell, perhaps locally moderate mid-Channel at times.

Weather: Rain and drizzle in the west of the area by midnight.

Visibility: Good, locally moderate to poor later.
